If she is masking it she carries it either as a dominant characteristic or she has two recessive genes(so it would be visual if she wasn't ino) for it but it can't be seen due to ino. If it is a recessive gene and she carries a single copy of it (in other wods it wouldbn't be visible even if she wasn't an ino) then she is split for it. Does that make sense?

These are the parents yes? Opaline Mauve Hen and the Sky blue GF2 Greywing Split Receissive and Ino Cock

So she is GF2 albino masking opaline and split greywing or clearwing, possibly split recessive

This is crazy, but I totally understood that !!!! LOL WOW... I think I would have a good handle on this all if I could just memorize what genes are dominant vs recessive and what genes are sex linked vs. not sex linked. Thanks so much MB... totally got it!

One question more and I'm done, promise... Is GF2 the same thing as Goldenface (sf)??? If not I'm lost again. RIP say the bub is GF (sf) and you stated GF2... same thing?

Sorry I only used GF2 because that is what you said the parent was, yes it is also single factor asit would have only got the gene from one parent.

So it is a "GF2 (sf)" ? GF2 andGF (sf) are not the same meaning... ?

GF 2 is what makes the blue turn green (just like YF2), but what does GF (sf) mean then? I understand sf meaning only one from one parent, but does that mean mom is masking GF because she is opaline? How did I get a GF2 chick if only one of the parents is GF don't you need a gene from each parent for a GF2 chick? I think I'm lost now... oh no, not again... LOL

GF is a dominant gene so you only need it from one parent :P

So is the bub a GF2 or is it a GF (sf)?? Or can I say it either way?

She is a GF2 (SF) as I understand it. She s Goldenface type 2 but as she only carres one gene rather than two she s a single factor. hope someone can confrn that for me
