If bullet were paired to a male cobalt normal, what would the chicks be? Please say the exact percentages eg:

50% blue

25% grey

25% yellowface

Thankyou all.

100% normal unless cock is split for something sex linked or if both birds are split for something recessive

Thankyou very much Dave_Mcminn and **Liv**Thankyou very much Melbournebudgies

25% sky blue

25% cobalt

25% yellow face skyblue

25% yellow face cobalt

The chicks will all be normals unless the birds are split for other mutations. If they are split other mutations could appear in up to 25% of the chicks but their base colours would still match the pattern above (or dark factor if albino)

The bird is a single factor Yellowface Mutant 1 also known as English Yellowface or Creamface.

I won't bother with the expectations as they have already been done by others.

okay So now bullet is not a yellowface type 2? She is not skyblue or cobal, she is more of an aqua colour and that is why I thought she was yellowface type 2.

Thankyou Neville and RIPBudgies

okay we have 2 answers yes to 2 and no to 1??

I agree with Dave he is a YellowFace 2 you can see the bleed going from the mask into the chest area and I would say he is a skyblue and the yellow bleed is turing the color "seafoam" color.

Thankyou Elly.

Will the yellowface chicks be all type 2's or can I get type 1's aswell?

Yellowface Type 2 is dominant you will not get any Type 1. To get Type 1 you need to have Type 1 birds.

I think your bird is type 1 yellow face. The chicks will inherit the same yellow face type as the parent

From the photo I agree with Neville. It looks like a type 1.

I didn't think type 1 bled into the colouring of the body... hasn't it done that near the check patches and turned the body colour green? Or is it just type 1 with a fault? or are my eyes just playing tricks on me?

I agree with Neville and Daz on this one ;)

Thats why I'm a little confused, they are always right but I thought that YF1 couldn't bleed into the body colour... I guess it can :D

Well Jimmy I have yellow faces and I have never had one bleed through the wings of a normal until recently, so I was ready to cull the father and young but this judge told me because I put cinnamon to cinnamon that's why and if I put the father to a normal next time the normals if yellow face should not bleed so I have kept the dad on this advice .

Actually the dad is a grey cinnamon yellow face but when I got him I thought he was a wierd grey green cinnamon colour, so I was really annoyed when I realised he was grey cinnamon yellow face but he is areal nice bird.

Some people think yellowface type 2 and some think type 1. I will take another picture.

okay so that means its a skyblue type one? Her body colour looks more like an aqua colour which means the yellow has bleeded into the body?

This is all very confusing............I have always been taught that any change of the skyblue like in this bird by a wash of yellow through it making it greensish means its a TYPE 2 ................ :D

Surely Pearce's bird is type 2 as it doesnt look skyblue at all but greenish aqua . :)

What I have learnt from this post is that I'm not sure if your bird is type 1 or 2... but I do believe that your bird is yellowface type something :laughter: I've had a stab both ways and both times I've been wrong :D

I still stick with type two as the bird does not look sky blue but sea foam to me.
