January 4, 200916 yr Author no lol i mean having both. i am concreting what looks like a pit and wondering wether to fill the pit with sand. thanks xx Elise xx
January 4, 200916 yr okay you could cover the concrete base with sand or grass if you want. It depends if your going to have bottom feeding animals like quails. If your not having quails then I would just have cement on its own, its easier to clean. Budgies dont spend much time on the ground so nly have grass or sand if your getting quails.
January 14, 200916 yr Author okay thanks for all the replys. i have one other important question how do release a budgie into the avairy the best way!?
January 14, 200916 yr Will the cage that they are in at the moment fit through the door of the aviary? if so take it in shut the door behind you and then open the cage door... I personally wouldn't walk any distance with a budgie in my hand, I'm not confident enough in holding the birds... Most important thing to remember is make sure the door is shut in the aviary before relesing the birds!
January 14, 200916 yr Author yeapp the cage fits in easily! well soon they will be happy in their new avairy with their new friends summer and gumnut!
January 20, 200916 yr Author omg! i neally died today digging out that avary base but im sure it will be worth it!now for the meshing and sand then the avairy and birds. birds i need more budgies! lol ill keep you updated on progress such as photos if anyones interested:) Edited January 20, 200916 yr by LILBABYBUDGIES
January 21, 200916 yr I am so envious of all of you that live in Australia. I have enough birds to fill an aviary like this. I have 7 breeding pairs, and 4 more potential breeding pairs, but just don't have the room to put them all down because I have no more room to house them all. I some how have 30 keets, 5 tiels and 7 finches all in my living room in indoor small aviaries and breeding cages. I wish I could add on a room to the house just for them. Temps are way too cold here to even consider and outdoor aviary... temps were in the teens and 20's all last week and it's only December... January and February are even colder.... (** chrissy drifts off into dream land where she could have an aviary fit for a queen**)You could just move over here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pics Please! Edited January 21, 200916 yr by mysixbabies
