I am getting myself a new breeding room, so i am about to take all of the birds and put them into holding cages for about 2-3 weeks.

Im hoping it wont take me that long to get it all up.

Im getting a shed 4.6m ( length ) x 2.5m ( width ).

I am wanting to know what people suggest for me to put the birds on, giving i have this time to try and get them in the best condition prior to putting them down to breed.

I have been advised that Psittavet is good to use.

What is everyone's thoughts, and can anyone else recomend anything else.

What multi vitamin do people have there birds on whilst breeding to keep them as healthy as possible.

I always see people ask about multivitamins. I see multivitamins as a supposed replacement to a good diet. By that I mean, if you go to the extra effort to give a wide varied and healthy diet there is NO NEED for multivitamins.

Psittavet or Doxyvet is meds given over a 6 week course to knock out any hidden psittacosis. It is vet prescribed and you must have a very good reason or an affected bird to even get a vet to prescribe it for your use.

Holding cages are not an ideal situation and not great for a birds health, so if at all you can put them somewhere to be able to fly in the meantime that would be better than holding cages. They lose condition in holding cages.

Changes of diet also forces a moult so be very careful that doesnt happen as you would not be able to put birds down to breed if they are moulting.
