Okay so I'm not sure on which part to put this in as I'm wanting to know both the colors of these guys and also the sex..

First we will do Mayo who is easy in mutation although I'm still unsure on the sex.. Mayo is also a lot smaller than the other two (different parents)..

Next is Pickles.. Pickles is id have to say my fave .. The photos are all taken WITHOUT a flash although I'm not sure they quite show his coloring well enough.. he is a really sweet almost violet color.. his sex has me clueless .. all i see is black hahahaaa

Last but not least is scruffy lil Ketchup who I'm not sure about PERIOD.. he is a nice almost lime green with a blue butt.. Sex -I have NO CLUE hahaaaa

I can't say for sure what they are (other than cute), but will be interested to find out what others think about the one with the blue bum! I'm loving those yellow faces ! They are definately all too cute!

weipa is in Far North Queensland, and a very lovely part of the country... I've only seen photo's of when my parents went up there... hopefully one day I'll make it and then go up to the Torris Straight Islands...

1. Olive Recessive Pied hen

 

2. Violet Normal hen (really a stab in the dark about the sex)

 

3. Yellow Face Violet Normal hen (another guess)

 

Don't rely on my guesses, but I'd love to know how far off the mark I am!

First baby looks to be a Recessive pied hen

 

Second baby looks to be a normal violet cock

 

Third looks to be a Golden face type 2 violet hen

Well im TOTALLY lost when it comes to naming the pretty colours these days but.. ummm Ketchup (the last one in the pics) everyone is saying a VIOLET ummmm but shes(?) GREEN and BLUE :ohmygod: hahaaa.. im totally lost

Recessive pied Grey Green Hen

Cobalt Cock (if in the same clutch split recessive pied)

Opaline Grey Green Hen. (I think I see grey green in the wings)

The pied was in a seperate clutch.. the last two are clutch mates though..

The sex at their age is always a bit uncertain

 

Mayo is an olive recessive pied hen

 

Pickles is a normal cobalt violet cock

 

Ketchup I'm not sure about: Liv might be right with golden face. My first impression was normal grey green hen. The cheek patches look like they are going to be blue rather than purple which suggests grey or grey green. Green chicks often have blueish feathers. Would be interested to see a photo when it is fully feathered

Yeah the reason he looks so ick and scruffy is that he went through a "bald" stage and lost quite a few of his feathers.. im not sure if they are growing back new or its just the broken ones still growing..
