Posted December 12, 200816 yr Hi everyone, I just joined the forum after using the site for about 6 months as a guest while learning about breeding budgies. I just started breeding budgies at the beginning of this year. (I met GenericBlue when I bought my first breeding pair from her at the start of the year) I have about 30ish budgies at home at the moment. Here are some pictures: My Lacewings: One of my first budgies 'Daisy'. She is a green, opaline, spangle. My kids love her as she is so tame and never bites them. 'Violet' is a violet, opaline, cinnamon, spangle and her mate a violet, recessive pied http://i465.photobucket.com/albums/rr13/ka...et/DSC02878.jpg This is "Gorgeous" (Cobalt, Opaline, Yellow Face) and his girl "Big Bird" who is a lutino split for blue http://i465.photobucket.com/albums/rr13/ka...et/DSC02165.jpg[/img] This is "Misty" (Grey, opaline, cinnamon) This is "Blueberry" (Cobalt, Opaline, Violet) This is "Lollipop" (Cobalt violet, Cinnamon, clearwing, spangle/Opaline) Violet, Dominant Pied, Opaline spangle hen & her partner Violet Double dominant pied or Violet, Double factor spangle, dominant pied (don't know his genetics yet) Three of my newest members: Thanks for checking them out. December 14, 200816 yr Author I am away for a day and these pictures get put up... All your birds look great but I love lacewings so they my fav. I know what you mean. When I first started getting into budgies, I flipped through some books and saw a beautiful white lacewing. Since then I litterally dreamt about my "dream" budgie (white lacewing). About 2 months ago I found one in a pet shop and was so excited I was getting to own one!!! My Dream Budgie!!!!  I am going to try and breed some lacewing split cocks from my two hens so I can breed some (hopefully!) I have checked out Kaz's Lacewings..... She has some beautiful ones. As you can see I have 2 lacewing hens but I would love a lacewing cock or even a split cock. It would save me a couple of years of breeding. PS. I also have a soft spot for all cinnamons. PSS. I took some great shots of my fallows today. So cute...... My hen is very sleepy usually and was woken from mate (who is ment to be split for fallow) Check it out: "Hey wake up! I Loooove You." "It's not gunna happen - I have a headache."
December 16, 200816 yr You have some very nice birds This one is my favorite - please pop a stamp on her and send her to me :reading:
December 16, 200816 yr Hey Kazzy, I am just new here. I was looking on the net to try to find out more about my awseome little budgie clan family. I was looking at your beautiful photo's of your budgies and I love the lovely multi coloured cinamon bird with lots of yellow. Sorry I have no budgie knowledge and don't know the definitions yet. But was wondering did you achieve all those budgies by breeding them yourself or spotted them out at shop to purchase??? Or did you buy them from a breeder who has a detailed idea of what they are doing??? Seems like you have a good eye for pretty birds. I am not interested in breeding. Don't have the time however love to look at the pretty ones. Many awesome birds on this site and yours are amongst the best I have seen. Look forward to many hours browsing this site. HI TO ALL. Mel.
December 16, 200816 yr YeP I agree Liv, unfortunately I'm not in need of hens  Well actually I suppose I am seeings that I don't have any birds at my place at the moment.

HI TO ALL.Mel.Hi Mel, firstly thanks heeps for your kind words about my BABIES! I have only started to breed budgies this year (mostly of the pet variety) I've had 13 successful babies so far, from 5 different pairings. (and learn something new through every clutch) Secondly, I should mention that Chord has helped me immensely this year with breeding tips and what to look out for in a good budgie. All the photos of the budgies I have posted so far I have purchsed from pet shops and local breeders, with the intention to breed them myself. I personally look out for colour and stance in a budgie first, then way up the size of the bird for breeding qualities.I have to give Chord recognition also for the cinnamon, sky, yellow face, dominant pied hen that you mentioned. I got her from Chord (who bred her). Checkout her flock threads, she has more photos of brothers and sisters from the first clutch. When I saw those babies feather up, I bags'ed the best chick out of the next clutch. They are so pretty. Thanks for looking and welcome to the forums. :grouphug:You have some very nice birdsThis one is my favorite - please pop a stamp on her and send her to me Thanks Liv, she was one of my first budgies I purchased at the start of the year. Since that photo, she has come into breeding condition (crusty cere) and has paired up with a big sky blue norm cock. I was waiting till after summer heat to try and get bubs.
