Posted December 11, 200816 yr Today Kaz and I went to the seed supply shop and they happened to have some lovely culls that had come in. I bought this spangle boy and the pied behind him today. The pied kept hiding so i will get a picture of him tomorrow in better light, but the grey spangle is a stunning boy bred by Rob Dunstan. The father is an Armstrong bird, he is also a DF YF so will get lots of YF babies His name is Robbie Edited December 11, 200816 yr by KAZ
December 11, 200816 yr The mother was a YF grey normal too.....so YF on both sides. Not bad for a $35 bird The dom pied is a youngster but very nice also...he will grow well Edited December 11, 200816 yr by KAZ
December 11, 200816 yr The truth is I had "ïnside knowledge"on this bird and where he had come from so I took Liv down there especially to look at him
December 11, 200816 yr Author The truth is I had "ïnside knowledge"on this bird and where he had come from so I took Liv down there especially to look at him and i have a -----> <----- from ear to ear!!!!!!!!!! I am sooooo in love with him :D Now on a mission to get him a nice normal blue hen.
December 12, 200816 yr He is great! Looking forward to him ending up in Melbourne. due to a mistake on the box
December 12, 200816 yr great looking bird. i can hardly wait to get over there with my cash - LOL!!!!!
December 13, 200816 yr Lovely bird Liv, Kaz I am on my way :laughter: the boys want me over there for xmas but have to work on Boxing day but will get there soon anyway. Question though how do you go about flying them back, would be costly?
December 13, 200816 yr Liv is able to take 10kg worth for $50 on the plane with the box weight included in that 10kg She was around here yesterday Was excellent fun! Coming to Perth hey splat ? We shall have to meet also
December 13, 200816 yr Yeh will get there soon, my boys have been nagging me, they are paying for my air flight so I really have no excuse. It's just getting around to it, Yes I would love to meet you all when I come it would be great. So Libby is that 10kg of box weight and birds meaning the budgies aren't very heavy so You could fit quite a few in. And is it a special box or do I use my own?
December 13, 200816 yr 10kg including the weight of the box and as many birds as you put in there I guess I'm not sure on Box's Kaz picked Liv's one up somewhere? But i don't think it really matters aslong as it's got holes and is secure, there may be a standard online somewhere?
December 13, 200816 yr Thats pretty cheap only $50 for freight...especially when you look at the grey bird she picked up, and the others she will get while there... well worth the investment.. Edited December 13, 200816 yr by KAZ I know it was cheap freight JB, but saying it twice doeswnt make it cheaper LOL Edited out your double post LOL
December 13, 200816 yr okay that means I better start saving, Hey Kaz what's Gary Armstrongs cull price and who else is over there Gee the idea of some new birds might get me there faster BUT I am fussy Is there any nice pied.
December 13, 200816 yr I dont think Gary A has any culls right now....I asked already for Liv and there wasnt any. But there are birds to be found and I have many contacts. You can also ask on MBC when you know you are coming to tee up some breeders who may have birds and I can make some good introductions for you too
December 13, 200816 yr Author Here are a few newbies. A lovely hen from Renee A nice 08 YF grey cock from Bob Levy A handsome boy from another breeder that the name slips my mind at the moment I have 17 birds in total. I got 4 from Libby yesterday too. There are too many to catch and photograph at the moment so i have been slack and have only taken a few . i will take pics when i get home and the birds have settled in a bit. All birds are green, except for Renee's sky blue hen and a few greys. Because they are all from different breeders and places and are forced to all be kept together they have all started the 6 weeks of antibiotics to make sure there are no carriers of nasty diseases in the group.
December 13, 200816 yr Good luck with it all.. Makes quarantining hard when you are interstae and buying from so many sources... The birds look great... Look forward to seeing them all when you get back
