My Male budgie Bailey won't stop mating with my four baby budgie's(two which are boys), perches even a toy donkey I don't know what to do he recently lost his mate Sky who past away.

Could this be causing his behaviour?

 

And can I do anything??

I've tryed covering the cage to stop the hormone levels

I've tryed letting him out on his own he gets stressed hearing the little ones in the cage, and trys though the mesh.

 

Please help

Provided the babies are weaned, he needs to be taken away from the babies as he will be stressing the babies.

Put him in a cage well away from the babies and even out of ear shot. He will stress for a little while, but should calm down after a few days

Sometimes all day they only come out for about an Hour hslf an hour, so the rest of the day he's covererd not the babies but he is. Also the babies are 2 months t 3 months and weaned.And when do You worm the babies??

He has his own seperate cage from the babies, the babies all live together in a huge cage but there in my bedroom, George and Lumina the parents are in a different room to rest away from the babies.And after he attempt to mate I put him back in his cage and he stays in all day after that. But it upsets me because I think he's lonely, Hes proberly not but thats what I think

You should NOT have Older birds in with babies .... It encourages mating at a young age ... Are you able to remove him? P.S Agree with covering him up to decrease his hormones

Good advice from Neat and Liv but you should not have him covered all day? Do from the hours of 7Am - 7PM for the a week and see if that helps after you have separated him from the babies.

He isnt with the babies hes own. and the babies are in a seperate cage but toghther They only play outside the cage togherther and as soon as he tries I put him back In his cage
