Posted December 6, 200816 yr Hi, I have an old dresser of mine that I am going to turn into 4 breeding cabinets for budgies! Each cabinet will be approx 90cm long, 38cm wide and 32cm high. Is this big enough? I will attach the boxes on the OUTSIDE of the cages, held in place by those L shape brackets you can get from Bunnings, and run a couple of Dowel perches - Bunnings again! across the cage. Will put wire on the front, with access doors on front and sides. Hoping for slide out tray too, think I can do this by the way its set up. Will sand off any paint that the budgies could possibly get to. Any advice and comments/criticism welcome, Thanks, Sam :28:
December 6, 200816 yr Sounds good ..... But I would run two perches front to back and not sideways across
December 6, 200816 yr snap a picture of it now and when you are in the process of doing it so members can give you advise during the process and visually see it would help too .
December 6, 200816 yr Author yep okay I'll do that thanks Elly and KAZ I was already going to run from front to back thats what I meant I have seen other members do the same and also I have 2 breeding cages at home that the perches run front to back - makes alot more sense
December 9, 200816 yr Sounds good. A few people have been doing this on the site you might be able to see the results of some of them with a quick search. They look good.
