Posted March 27, 200520 yr I just brought home a new birdie He was so scared during the car ride. So, I started singing to him and he was quiet and then started to tweet along with me. Everytime I stopped singing he would squawk at me. Then I'd start again... he sing with me, then squawk when the song was over. :(Laughing out loud): -(Laughing out loud)- We must've done that about 6 times or so on the way home. Does anyone elses birds sing with them? I thought it was just so cute the way it seemed to relax him and make him feel more comfortable. I think we made a special bond on the way home Oh, we named him Stormy :bluebudgie:
March 27, 200520 yr He's cute!!! He looks all dirty though... :bluebudgie: Budgie just seem to like being talked to!!
March 27, 200520 yr OH NO You've blown it! The only time you would of had silence from your budgie is when you first get it, but it sounds like you have already started him off and now he'll never be silent again :(Laughing out loud): but it does sound good that you have bonded so soon :bluebudgie: and I'm sure he will become really tame at this rate. Good luck Oh and what I will always say keep us updated Edited March 27, 200520 yr by Sparky
March 27, 200520 yr your budgie looks lovely. I've never seen one like that before. Everytime i look at it it seems to have a different colour in it. I never sing to my budgie. I wouldn't like to offend his earss :bluebudgie: I do talk a lot to him though.
March 27, 200520 yr Yeh the colour is so cool. White with brown patches and a blue little bottem :bluebudgie:
March 27, 200520 yr i love when birds have cinnamon on thier wings, your budgies looks very individual Alomst_lily!! (sorry about bad spelling :bluebudgie:) Edited March 27, 200520 yr by budgieteen

March 27, 200520 yr i never sing to them, but when casper was on his own i once read him a childrens story! some people will think i am mad, but he seemed to enjoy it he looked like he was actually listening to me. i think its because reading sounds like soft budgie chattering Edited March 27, 200520 yr by pixie25
March 27, 200520 yr i think that i would get in trouble for animal cruelty if i was to sing to my pets but for those who can.. it sounds good
March 27, 200520 yr I never actually sing to Sparky but I do "humm" and clap and then he'll get all excited or maybe it's panic!
March 27, 200520 yr i sing to and with them we usually do it when there's no one home though cause we're a little off tune but hey...i've also read to them and they do seem to like it !! i just seat next to them with my book and start reading aloud, it makes them stop shrieking
March 27, 200520 yr I've read to Blinkie. He just sat there happily preening his little feathers!!! What an angel!!! :angel1:
March 27, 200520 yr Maybe Sparky is shrieking with happiness! Blinkie squawks and shrieks for many reasons. If i tell him something i don't want to hear, if he is overwhelmed with joy and happiness, if i am giving too much attention to my dog, if he's not getting his own way and heaps of others.....
March 27, 200520 yr Haha, Bea, yeah... he is a lil dirty... looks like someone pooed on his neck -(Laughing out loud)- but that didn't stop me from buying him... he was just so cute and just the sweetest one there. Well, my other birds are so into the Trans-Siberian Orchestra... they are so picky about their music :(Laughing out loud): It's kinda amusing. I never thought to read to them. That's a great idea. Thanks for the compliments (sp?) on Stormy, I'm sure he'll blush when I tell him *hehe* He was the most unique looking one at the store. Thankfully he has the sweet temperment to go along with it :angel1: !
March 27, 200520 yr Stormy-what a fantastic looking bird and name-he looks really unusual to me too. Julie

May 29, 200520 yr Your bird is just the female version of mine whom I named Angel, unfortunately she seems ill at the moment and undergoing some late stages in her molting. Hopefully she may have a chance to get over it. As to singing well it happens to me too, I just got my mini flock approximately 3 to weeks ago. I spent lots of tme whenver I am home from work and in the weekends, and yes they do sing a lot with me. The moment I start playing tunes or they hear me singing they's start chirping and stop instantly if I also stop or turn the music off. The moment I sing again or play my cd they immediately take it as their cue to join in chorus. My birds aren't hand tamed yet, and may take awhile I suppose considering two of them are adults. Got them from the local petshop. Singin wise I also find it quite an experience and nice too. It simply just sets me a smile and at times a laugh how crazy my flock can get over music and outsinging my CD.... I just brought home a new birdie He was so scared during the car ride.
