December 5, 200816 yr What a pity I live in a flat and not allowed pets (budgies and fish I managed to sneak but doubt a dog would work!!) Cockers are my second favourite dogs. I had Golden Retrievers and if I was allowed a dog now, I have always said I would get a Cocker as they are to me kind of like a smaller version of a GR. They have the most adorable faces!!! LOVE them! Cant wait to see the photos, but if I offer to buy one .. say NO!!!!! (I'll get evicted!!)

Once you see their gorgeous, gorgeous little faces you will fall in love instantly They dont make much mess and come toilet trained, and only bark once in a while! (I make a terrible liar ) :bluebudgie: :sadsorry:
December 5, 200816 yr I have always said I would get a Cocker as they are to me kind of like a smaller version of a GR. Has anyone seen that fabric softener ad on TV with the golden retriever putting her puppies in the towel drawer? Look closely because they are actually cocker pups :bluebudgie:

December 6, 200816 yr :bluebudgie: Haha I cant wait until that comes back on I will have to have a look
December 6, 200816 yr How exciting new little pupies on the way, And MB, are you just very observant :bluebudgie: , or did you somehow have the heads up on the Cocker pups in the drawer?
December 6, 200816 yr Nah I've just worked in enough pet shops and vet clinics to know the difference between a GR and a cocker pup that's all :sadsorry: Also the size is all wrong for a puppy of that age, a GR pup would be about twice the size(atleast), I assume they did it to make it easier for the little girl to have it in her lap and so that the whole litter would actually fit in the drawer :bluebudgie:
December 6, 200816 yr Cant wait to see that ad!! I VAGUELY remember seeing it but only fleetingly (probably dashing out of the room in the ad break!!) , must check out those puppies!
December 7, 200816 yr Author Monty and Bella are so much in love! :hap: We let them inside for an hour each night and Monty just dotes on Bella. He gives her kisses (licks her mouth) and just never leaves her alone. Bella just loves being brushed. She sat with me for the whole time just letting me brush her, she is so adorable.

December 13, 200816 yr Author Well it's only a matter of about 18 - 20 days and the pups will be here! I gave Bella a bath today and she just loved it. She especially likes it when I blow dry her. She just lies down and goes to sleep !! I will take some pics of her huge belly tomorrow!
December 13, 200816 yr Good luck Jenene, have you got your whelping area and all the emergency supplies ready yet?
December 13, 200816 yr Author Good luck Jenene, have you got your whelping area and all the emergency supplies ready yet? Sure have MB!! I have bought Bella and the pups a nice big heated woollen mattress, and I have all the supplies ready just in case they're needed!! Why is it that pups are always born at night ?? :budgiedance:
December 14, 200816 yr For the same reason thatmore women go into labour in the night than in the daytime, way back in evolution the night time was the safe time to have babies(and still is if you ask a zebra) so that is programed into almost every mammal
December 18, 200816 yr Author Well here's the photo of Bella's very pregnant belly! Poor thing is feeling the heat but the majority of the time she is in our nice cool garage and goes in and out the doggy door as she wishes.
December 19, 200816 yr Author Awww, poor Bella. Here she is almost exploding, and you're making fun of her boobies! :tut_tut: Shame on you!!
December 19, 200816 yr Awww, poor Bella. Here she is almost exploding, and you're making fun of her boobies! :tut_tut: Shame on you!! Shame on us... I can only imagine her predicament... and how 'tight' her belly must be. My best friend (human) is pregnant and due end of Feb and her belly is so tight... It's hard to imagine how bubs can get any bigger... and how it comes out of where it does OUCH!!!
December 19, 200816 yr Author She is almost bursting at the seams Maesie!! Especially after she's eaten! Surely she cant get much bigger! I'm like a cat on a hot tin roof lately - I dont like leaving her for any length of time just in case she goes into labour.......
