So we had our clubs xmas party today and the beginers where put into a draw and we got to get a free bird. I had a look and I picked one I really wanted and got him and then found out we got 3 maybe four! So here is my swag.

This guy was my first pick and I was lucky I got picked first out of the hat.

Then the second time around I wanted the other yellow face but talking to the guy he said I should take this one

Then third time around the other yellow face was still there so I took him

I did not get a fourth round ;)

Thanks, I thought it was a great idea by the club and really i would have been happy to get one, let alone three! My only issue was that i got three cocks ;) But I was so much "oh oh oh pretty birds for free" that i did not notice this till after the fact! There was a little very young yellow faced grey that I thought about picking but in the end no one wanted him and Budgielover13 was drawn and she got him he looks a little worse for wear but I think he could end up being a really nice bird! But i am happy with what I got.

What a great day you had :o I like your choices, especially the YF's.

A day to put a smile on your face ;)

What a nice day :D that is awesome and your birds are beautiful that you picked.

Very Nice :D , I am going to suggest that our club does that at the next meeting.

What an awesome Chrissy Pressie from your club!!! You lucky thing!! :D

WOW! What a great club. Im in the eastern suburbs, how come I havent heard of this. I need to join a club. Im so shy though :)

Maybe we should start a BBC of Victoria... lol. Of course we'll pay this BBC for royalties to use their name but you know start a franchise... :)

They are so cute AV! ;)

Actually I was wondering… are you gonna give some of your babies away any soon?

We’re thinking a get a little present for our Jelly, as a little budgie girl :D

He is talking to the wild birds outside of the house and loves to play with his bells, also he has a bell which has a mirror ball with it (as a disco ball) and he is talking to it! So I think that he can see himself in little peaces… :D so we start feeling bad because of it. and my husband said “he need a girl!” and send me to you to get him a friend :)

I would be happy to give you another one. The two pet types would be his younger brother and / or sister (I think i have one of both) or I have a hen which is ready to go now (and not related to him so if you want to breed in the future you could but I would recommend you think long and hard before you do)

I always recommend getting two boys as I feel they get on better but that is a person thing. Also you don't have to worry about egg binding.

Either way let me know and you can come around and have a look.

Also if you want him to bond better with you then just remove all shiney objects.

Hi guys,

I also cleaned up ;) at the Christmas party, I will post some photos in the next day or two, have some personal matters to deal with at the moment so I haven't been able to get on the forum anywhere near as much as I would like, hopefully these will be sorted by Thursdays and I won't be so distracted and I'll be popping up everywhere :D .

yeah, we've thinking about a girl. I though that is don't give them a breeding box they wont breed - Am I wrong? Because we can't to breed (too much for us)

about shinny objects.. I think it is another topic but.. he still a little wild  He's going on my husband's finger and only if to ask him a lot, I'm not talking about my self at all.. :P

he is acting like still scared of us. i was waiting, talking to him (we're not stoping and the radio is on at all the time we're not home HE'S LOVE THE MUSIC! By The Way).. but start worry. is it normal?! he've been with us almost 2 months :( I don't know what alse can I do... :D help...

Let me know next time you guys are going, and Ill tag along eh?

Some birds take longer then others also remember shiney object that they can see their reflection is will cause them to bond with them more then anything else.

It can take up to a year for a bird to bond with you, so you have to ask yourself do you want a really tame bird or do you want to have two that can entertain each other?

Keep working with the finger and also put some millet on your hand to get him to jump up on it.

If you decide you want to get another one, I would recommend two males then you don't even have to worry about breeding as they will not, hens can still get it into their head to lay off the perch of that the seed dish would make a good nesting spot. If you are still worried give drop me a PM or call me (if you still have my number) and I can come around and have a look at your setup.
