What Did You Get The Kids For Xmas

Featured Replies

Hey all since there is 26 sleeps to Xmas .....

And I have only just started the Christmas shop

I Just wanted to know what did you get your kids for Xmas and how old are they ?

Well... I don't have my own kids, but my nephew and niece:

Nephew 4 3/4- Model Dinosaur to make up.. he's obsessed with them and knows how to say all the hard ones  , a children's Atlas as he has a wealth of knowledge already... smart boy and a small handheld compass for him to navigate the backyard.

Niece 1 1/2- A small pink handbag, some plastic bracelets, fluffy pink boa, a colorful dress up hat and a plastic rubber duck.

Um so far ...nothing

We probably won't get them much, their grandparents spoil them every year so it's overkill if we go crazy too. We normally try and buy one larger thing rather than lots of small things, we have been tossing around the idea of a trampoline. They are 4 and 2

Ummm me too - nothing yet ;)

I am in the same boat as MB

Taumei is 2 and he is getting a ride on battery charged jeep... He's spoilt... Hate to think how much it cost (his mum bought it)

We have 2 boys 7 & 10. We got them a laptop each, but gave them to them early and will just get them a small gift on xmas. We told them the laptops we half for xmas and half for school, hence why they will get another small gift.

Yeah i didn't want to have a post where members felt bad about presents and what they can and can't afford ..... I am just stunned with ideas ... Their grandparents ( daves parents) spoil them rotten ... and again they spoiled them .. So i just wanted some ideas

Last year we spoilt him to much got him way to many presents and half of them he never even touched they are still in the boxes... Needless to say they are going to the Salvo's this year. We decided better off getting one good present rather than a heap of little ones. With times getting tougher its getting harder and harder unfortunately.

nothing yet ;), I have to get moving on that.

I have done some christmas shopping. i have 2 boys who are 13 and 5 and 2 girls who are 10 and 3. my hardest to buy for his my eldest son, he spends alot of time on his computer and complains about some of is games not working properly so we have bought him a new hard drive ( i know weird present) and a mp3 player. My 10 year old is obsessed with Hannah Montanna so i got her a HM playstation game, HM dvd and also a password journel.

I have not got much for the younger ones yet, i few little toys for their stockings but still got to get their main present. My 3 year old got a barbie doll house for her bday this year so i am going to get her more furniture for the house. i am not sure what to get my 5 year old yet.

We have splashed out a little this Christmas as our boys have had a pretty rough year with me being imobilised for 2/3rds of it and they have had to do much more around the house and outside than usual (and I might add very rarely complained) so we are rewarding them with a Wii and a new trampoline (the old one is stuffed). I just have to get them a little something each so they have an individual present to open.

This time of year is always hard for me as its my youngest (miss 11's) birthday on the 8th of December also..

She wanted a Wall-E interactive toy and also a WowWee alive lion Cub so we bought both girls (miss 12 also) a Wall-E and Eve interactive toy each (miss 11 will get the lion cub for her birthday) and we also bought them new Mountain bikes for Christmas ..

Heaps of other little bits and pieces also not worth mentioning really .. tamagotchi's etc etc ...

Thanks guys .....

I went through some of their presents that I had gotten over the past 2 months

"Santa" got Talia a Ipod min thing and Got Dylan a Car ramp thing with a service station and etc

( wasn't going for the scale electrics till he is 5 B))

Then there is HM ( Hannah Montana **** for Tj Back to school pack with a diary, Hair braider Art pack and clothes) Got her a recycle paper thing ( you make your own paper as she is always wanting paper to do something with .. this way she can have as much as she likes and we are saving on the trees it's pretty cool as you can add glitter and etc :D .... Also got her a Chemistry set thing where she can make bouncing balls and and etc a Mini Pc but it is a education one with built in games and activities ... Dylan we got a roary the racing car this cute little karaoke singing thingy with the alphabet and numbers and nursery rhythms Hot wheels look- a- like car thingy with the twist and etc .... Cars art pack and a car carry case ... They got spoilt last year big time But this year with Dave in and out of work i was very smart and bough a little early ... Just going to put some cheap go lo toys and choccy in their stockings ....

But The best thing is that Talia keeps saying that she is making Mine and daves pressies .... I LOVE THAT MORE THEN ANYTHING - I have all the kids stuff they make in a "special " place

Taumei is 2 and he is getting a ride on battery charged jeep... He's spoilt... Hate to think how much it cost (his mum bought it)

Can you adopt me?

We have 2 boys 7 & 10. We got them a laptop each, but gave them to them early and will just get them a small gift on xmas. We told them the laptops we half for xmas and half for school, hence why they will get another small gift.

I am sure I can split the holidays between two adopted families ;)

Anyway I don't have kids but I have two niece who I raised and the three kids I look after.

One niece got a make over and make up (she is 17)

The other got money (she is 19)

The kids I look after

Oliver is getting a fold out chair Approx $30 and he is 4. His parents give him lots of **** so I figured this was functional

Thomas is getting a robot maker approx $30 and he is 11. It's the one that you take a drink can and they give you all the parts to make a robot.

Catherine will be getting Buffy Season 3 and she is 13. I have been giving her a season a year for the past two years now.

Have you seen the new ant farms? They are great the look really good in their blue gell and you don't have to water or feed them. Kids love these and I don't think they cost that much.

This is a good website -> http://www.tesora.com.au/ they have the ant farms here -> http://www.tesora.com.au/AntWorks-Ant-Farm...d-Base__100.htm they are about $50 but you don't get the ants you have to catch them (half the fun if you ask me) and then off they go. My only issue is what happens when they eat all the gel?

Also for boys bug catchers and water guns are alot of fun. I had the most fun with a 50c water gun when I was younger however some girls are not so great with them. If you have pre teen girls hair curlers are great.

Anyway that should give you a start will do some more research and see what else I can think up for you.

haha. Its his Mother that you should be talking to AV... He's already got way to many toys... I'm more likely to buy him budgies... lol. you know the presant for him that is really for me...

Did that to my Brother once, got him a present I knew I would love. :D He still brings it up every Christmas some 20 years later :laughter:

Ant Farms are Great!! I think you can get Worm farms too...

Dylan and Tj love their bug catchers Missylu gave them so the ant farm could be a big hit with them both ....

So when so they know that Santa is MUM & Dad????

:laughter: Santa is mum and dad :D ???!!!!????!!!! All these years i have been tricked!! I feel so deceived :D

If they don't believe they don't receive :laughter:

My boys will believe in Santa until they're 30!

I suspect the oldest has an idea now, but still wants to believe. :D

:D Santa is mum and dad  ???!!!!????!!!! All these years i have been tricked!! I feel so deceived :D

:28: :28: :28: ho ho ho

i got santa presents until i moved out at 18 :D

Now i give santa pressies :D

I get hubbies big shoes and trudge them though the front garden and then stomp big muddy foot prints though the house to their stockings. Then i make a huge mess of the lettuce, carrots and cake (reindeer are messy things :laughter: ) The kids think its awesome!!!!!

Well I'm still feeling pretty uninspired about christmas as far as gifts go. The boys have their wheelbarrow each but other than that I have no idea. I was thinking maybe a large planter each(maybe with their name painted on the front), some potting mix and some seedlings and a set of garden tools each?? Or is that a really boring present for two little boys? The thing is they have more toys than they know what to do with and books coming out their ears so they really don't need any of that sort of stuff and they do like helping me in the garden.

If they don't believe they don't receive

My name is AV and I am 28 and I still believe in santa! Every yea get presents from him. However I caught mum putting my stocking out when I was 7 soI knew the gig was up but have never said anything. it's sort of this running joke in my family, I know that mum knows that I know that Santa is not real but have never said anything about him not being real and neither has she. Add to that I am the ONLY child of the 6 that still gets presents from santa I figure wh spoil a good thing!

My mum still addresses gists from Santa too  Last year my parents had the family chrissy at their place, my dad dressed up as santa (mainly for my kids) and the whole family had to sit on his knee to get their pressies includng his elderly mum and dad(nana and pa to me) Alex wasn't fooled though, he took one look at him and turned to me and said "Hey mum it's santa grandpa", he's a smart cookie my boy :P

We have 2 boys 7 & 10. We got them a laptop each, but gave them to them early and will just get them a small gift on xmas. We told them the laptops we half for xmas and half for school, hence why they will get another small gift.

I am sure I can split the holidays between two adopted families

Woohoo!! We'd get higher Family Tax Benefit with three kids!! :P

When my boys ask if Santa exists, I tell them he does, I just don't tell them he's me. ;)
