It's the season to take holidays, and it is always stressful leaving our beloved budgies with carers while we are away.

There are so many stories of people leaving their birds with a friend or relative and only to return to a sick birds

budgie care away link very helpful, but slightly confused about 2 things: a. why is lettuce harmful? b. Some members give celery LEAVES to their birds, but why is the celery stalk itself is not suitable?

If I am correct... both consist mainly of WATER... which can cause the runs. So they may eat them but both contain very little nutritional value, so you'd be better of feeding them something better.
