Wow! I hope you've got some foster parents available!

WOW that is great, the same thing has happened here the first rounds were pretty bad hatch ability almost nil and the second rounds were 8 to 12 eggs and most of them hatched.

It's like the hens are saying boy that round was bad better make up for it now :D

I was in the process of shutting down cabinets as last round was a disaster and it will be getting too hot soon.

I only have 3 cabinets running and 1 is a lousy mum and another has enough chicks of her own. :D

I will have to work something out though... i might start up another hen and see if i can put an egg or two under her as she starts to lay

I have mum coming over soon and she will be getting some intense lessons on bird breeding :D

There are 3 clear/undeveloped eggs so am about to toss them

:laughter: Don't do it yet!!!!!

With the rate she laid the eggs, with 11 eggs that would've taken 20 days to lay, which means those eggs are only just layed which is why they appear clear

Yeah i know :laughter:

but she cant raise them all so best to toss them before they develop

They will only get all poopy and become DIS otherwise

hehe i wash my eggs :laughter: I know, weird hey hahah

ME too. My hen laid 6 her last clutch (1 got broke, 2 weren't fertile, 3 hatched but only one survived) but this time she is making up for her losses because to date she laid 9 eggs. I guess she don't want to take any chances this time. LOL :D

That is great Liv, i hope you get lots of cute bubs this time.

okay... but are all the others showing fertile?? Otherwise what happens if you toss them and the others arn't fertilised? I know my spelling is bad I left in year 11. :D

what is it that you put in the bottom of your breeding boxes?

Are they Ernie's parents?

That is a mixture of seed and pine shavings. She had some time without the cock while he was weaning their only chick from the first round so i gave her seed in the box because she wouldnt come out to eat.

Are they Ernie's parents?

Yep

Great I'll let Ernie know he has a sibling

Well I can certainly recommend those budgies to any prospective pet budgie buyer!!
