Feather Plucking

Featured Replies

Hi all

Today I saw neon (male) plucking the feathers off the back of the french moult babies head. Could he be just preening him or could he be wanting the female to himself so he is trying to get rid of the babies?

The youngest baby is 40 days old. Should I put all the babies in their own cage now or what? What can I do?

Thankyou

Seeing as they are all over 40 days, they should be okay on their own.

Have you seen them eating etc.

They really need to be away from any parent that is plucking them asap.

Thankyou **LIV**

I have not seen the youngest eat but the 2 eldest eat like anything. The youngest is still in the nesting box.
