How do you aviary birds cope with the sudden and unseasonable change?

Wow, I wish I had a park like that over my back fence!

The weathers is crazy at the moment isn't it!

Hopefully okay, they have plenty of shelter in their aviaries and they are large birds so slightly better surface area to volume ratio than a small bird. The budgies and ringnecks are in the garage in large aviaries so it's still cold out there but they have a bit more protection.

It's not a park, its an army barracks. The only problem is that if we get strong wind in Melbourne we really cop it being so exposed up on the hill. That peaked aviary in the middle got flattened during the windstorms in May and has been repaired but it's never been quite the same since.

It's been hailing off and on here all day, we've had a break for a little while now (just some mild sprinkles but it's still col,d and windy) so I decided to brave it to go and take out the freash food and check on everyone. All are okay, the galahs and corellas were keen for a snuggle so I spent a bit of time in their respective aviaries chatting to them and giving cuddles and they all seem well. All of the aviary floors are quite wet but the top areas where they are sheltering are still nice and dry to so that's the main thing.

Seen the news yesterday Man QLD and VIC have coped it bad ... HOPE YOU ALL ARE okay ....

That is how it it his here MB, it is 50's one day and well today we have 5 inches of snow we have what is called lake effect since Ohio borders Lake Erie we get the precipitation because the Lake and then Canada tends to blast it over to us too ;).

We have had none of that we had 2 small showers yesterday morning and that was it. We just seem to get the big winds here without the rain
