Posted November 17, 200816 yr okay, I've been doing a bit of research and thanks to an article Daz sent me about Yellow Faces. So, please correct me if I'm wrong: Am I correct in assuming that Australian Yellow Face Mutant 1 are SINGLE Factor yellow faces? If I were to breed a Cinnamon wing Y/F Australian 1 cock to an Opaline Y/F Australian 1, what would be the outcome? Would I get any Yellow Face in the chicks? (single factor to single factor = double factor????) All comments appreciated.
November 17, 200816 yr Sorry I'm wrong, start again You should get 1/4 double factor YF (white faces) 1/2 single factor YF and 1/4 not carrying the YF gene at all You can work it out like this: Edited November 17, 200816 yr by melbournebudgies
November 17, 200816 yr Author You should get about 50% yellow face(single factor type 1 YF) and 50% white face(double factor type 1 YF) Aha! Thanks MB. How would theCinnamon wing and Opaline manifest itself? Edited November 17, 200816 yr by renee
November 17, 200816 yr See my previous post as I edited it when I realised I was wrong Cinny and opaline will work exactly the same as usual
