My hubby is taking Shaul my eldest son to buy his first pet today. He has wanted a pet lizard since he was 10 years old but my kids are not allowed to own their own pets till they are in high school and have showed me that they are responsible enough to look after a pet by helping look after the budgies and are able to save their pocket money to feed their pet. Shaul was very good with helping me when i was handrearing Roxy and he even cleans the cat litter tray so he is finally able to own a pet.

He is getting a baby central bearded dragon, he is very excited. i am not keen on reptiles so it wll be living in his room where i do not have to see it much. I will post photos when he gets it.

I had beardies for ages, they make great pets and when they are babies they are really cute Deb, trust me you'll warm up to the little tacker before you kno it

When I was young, my mother was terrified of my pet rat, but before to long they were best of friends!

 

I'm sure you'll grow to love the little fellow too. I'm just terrified my sons will want to bring home a pet snake!

My son wanted a pet snake but we compromised and i told him it was either a lizard or no reptile.

Sandy is home now, it is very cute for a lizard.It is only 2 months old. We got told that you cannot tell what sex they are till they are a adult so it will be a "it" for awhile. Here is a picture of my son holding it.

You have to wait for their pelvis to develop before you can tell but it is quite easy once they are large enough, you'll be able to look up a diagram online

cutie i had lizards but blue tounges and a gecko you know the ones with suction cup feet

i set his aquarium up wrong and a rock crushed him

i decided to leave off after that i hate hurting thing accidental or not

he will have a great mate though as they (reptiles) are full of personality

You were right MB, i am terrified of any lizards i see in my backyard but i have warmed up to Sandy and even been holding him.
