Opinions Please

So the suspense is killing me and my eye isn't really good enough to be able to tell whether this chick is as promising as I hope. Can others more wise please give me their honest opinion as to whether she has potential and the reasons for your opinion. I'm after constructive comment on what makes her good/bad in the interests of learning and the things you can pick up on at this age. In case you can't tell from the photos she still has the very fine pin feathers just above her cere yet to open so I expect her forehead to thicken up substantially in the next few days :)

Very nice :) Huge amount of feather coming in and directional feather too around the eys and cere. Going to have blow as there is height to the feather on the head and forward as well. Long mask, tucked in beak. Hard to see position of the eye in relation to the back of skull in those piks....

BUT I would be happy seeing chicks like that come out of a nest

Oh yay ;) These are my first self bred showies so I'm paranoid about how they are developing, plus they are the chickies out of the cock that killed himself behind the feeder so I desperately want them to do him proud :)

Does this help with a better side on shot for you?

I ws very surprised to discover that out of this cock and the crested cock both were split for cinnamon so she was pretty surprise that's for sure :)

Real nice baby MB I agree with Kaz looks like she is showing all the signs even looks like the bulls eye spot are developing.

It has some potential but seems to be too young. It would be interesting to see it develop of the next two weeks. How old is this chick?

she is too young, as the title said 'opinions please on this show CHICK'

Sorry guys, I'm just tired, she's about 4 1/2 weeks old in those photos. She's starting to get more feather now and has also started training in the show cage.

Well at 4 1/2 weeks she shows a lot of features. She is developing width across the cere, good directional feathering above the eye, depth of mask and she seems to like to throw her frontal. I would advise train her to continue that.

At this stage you should be giving plenty of Protien for feather develoment. Kaz can help you with that.

She is being handreared after the poor efforts of her parents so she is getting plenty of protien in her mix, Vetafarm Neocare plus cooked whole egg and has now started cracking seed by herself as we.
