Posted November 12, 200816 yr hi there, I have a 5 week old baby budgie at the moment who is flying around all the time and is starting to eat. I was just wondering if anyone knew how i could train it to be able to come outside with me and not flyaway. Is this possible? Also it is 6 weeks old next monday when could i seperate it from mum and dad?
November 12, 200816 yr I would never take a bird clipped or unclipped outside, the bigger birds can have harness and leashes.
November 12, 200816 yr Author okay then, Also it has blue around its nostrils on its cere and then pink is this a girl or boy
November 12, 200816 yr Not truly, hens can also display a light blue cere too. Also some mutations of budgies keep the pink cere for life. We have information on this in the FAQ's . If you would like to post a picture that would be best and the instructions on posting a picture are in the FAQ under the Welcome Section. You can post the picture in the Forum called "what sex is my budgie" Edited November 12, 200816 yr by Elly
December 8, 200816 yr You can separate him from his parents about 2 weeks after he is out of the nest, by then he will have learnt to eat by himself.
