November 8, 200816 yr Could members please help me with I.D. of these birds so that I can put them into the correct categories? Thanks, Trish. Budgie on left and right, right one is pictured below this also: Below, blue and white budgie: Below, budgie on left: hi trish im not to good at this myself but i do believe but may be mistaken that the blue and white budgie is a spangle with a pied inheritance hence the laced wing markings and the spot on head there has been talk that spangle budgies can have spots on head but this is only due to having a pied inheritance eg mum spangle white wing ,dad pied white based hope this helps my knowledge is mainly due to my own breeding experiences im no expert but seeing is believing and best way to find out is to pair it with a pied most probably a danish i would say if chicks come out spangled and pied there is your answer good luck some one else i am sure will probably know straight up but im just a novice and injoy the challenge of finding the perental genetics of birds i know no history of most times i am able to be right and can start my own line from their hope i did not confuse you there Edited November 8, 200816 yr by KAZ
November 8, 200816 yr Skyblue or Cobalt Opaline Dilute Green Texas Clearboby or an Opaline This one the same as the one above or different if so need a better picture of the back of the wings. Below, blue and white budgie: Skyblue Spangle Below, budgie on left: Dilute Cobalt Recessive Pied These are my guess with the pictures you have, don't post them anywhere until we get more opinions too.
November 9, 200816 yr Green bird looks like an opaline to me - think the tail is wrong colour for clearbody and the bird shows the typical opaline window in the wing. As others have said, blue bird looks like a spangle, probably also dilute and opaline. The blue bird in the picture below is a different bird and looks like a sky spangle. The baby in the picture below that appears to be a dilute pied - can't see markings clearly so a chance it is spangle also. Jaz
