Posted November 8, 200816 yr Hello everyone Am very new to forum - recently lost my little Andy (12 yrs old) and seeking another companion but wanted to do plenty of research before I take the next step of buying. I would prefer to find a breeder rather than go to a pet store. Any advice>
November 8, 200816 yr Hello! Welcome to the forum. Breeders are always better than petshops. Not sure of any breeders on here from the western suburbs, but if you contact the western suburbs budgerigar society they might be able to help... if you go to www.bcv.asn.au and click the clubs link... Good luck and hope you find a nice feathered friend Feel free to ask as many questions as you want while you are here.

I believe that the Western Suburbs club is having an auction at Laverton on 22nd November, so I should probably have a good chance of contacting a local breeder there.
November 8, 200816 yr Welcome Great idea coming here. We have a members breeder list if that helps at all Members Breeder List
November 8, 200816 yr As far as breeders in Melbourne on BBC it is basically me and Angelic Vampyre and we are both a fair way from you, I'm near Greensborough and AV is near Burwood. The auction should be a great chance to find someone local
November 8, 200816 yr Welcome to the forum :laughter:, sorry to hear about your little sounds like he live a good long life. In our FAQ, we have 2 good articles about Evaluation of a Pet Shop and Breeder so if all you have is the choice of a Pet Shop at least you can evaluate them properly.
November 9, 200816 yr Hi & Welcome .. Sorry to hear of your lose mate ... I too agree buying from a breeder rather then a Pet shop... Good luck on your search
