Jellybean's Training

Featured Replies

I am very sad to hear this. Do they not allow pets where you are going? or is there another reason?

hi

——replies——

thanks for your support  and I hope we are staying.

I'm not sure but I asked dad and he said it's too compliated.

oh well.

——good news____

Anyway today I was cleaning Jellybean's cage so I had to grab him and put him in a

box. After that i did my usual chore of feeding him a little bit of millet and he let me stroke him a little!

then afterwards I put my finger out as a perch and tried to stroke him on his belly, I got up to his beak

but then he ran away. I'm so happy when I put my hand near him the other times he ran away immeadiatly.

__extra__

today when I was near him he followed my hand like he was begging for food. :)

PS: Please note that I'm thinking of deleting my blog since this is like a blog now, agree or disagree

just reply.

bye bye

So great you are still making progress and it looks like you are staying :)

hi

--good news--

yesterday when I was feeding it again he flew out

again, yes again  Anyway this time I didn't feel bad about it

because we shut the blinds so he couldn't fly away but he flew to

my grandparent's room. Grandpa was reading the news he was so surprised!

Jellybean landed on the floor, luckily I had some millet on my hand so

I crouched down and guess what!after a while jellybean jumped back onto my hand

then when he was eating I slowly stood up and walked back to his cage. I've never

been so happy to put him back to his cage. :D No offence Jellybean.

bye

hi everyone

These days when I've been feeding jellybean

I get him on my hand(It's really easy now :) )

then I take him away from his cage. I'm I doing

it right? and what's the next step.how do I get him on

my hand without food? Please rely.!!!!

Thank you so much

It is good to hear you are making progress with JellyBean. When you are getting JellyBean onto your hand with food also say "step up" so he will eventually learn to response to the command and not food. There is a great article called Taming Budgies on the forum which Elly has mentioned earlier in this topic which will give you all the training advice you need.

recently I've been holding my finger like a perch and food in the other hand.

when He steps up I say step up (obviously :) )and when he does I give him food.

He's getting quit good now. B)

on Thursday our school (marryatville primary school)has a band called a "Music is Fun" band it's going to be awesome!

we are having lot's of really good songs like

I've been every where man,

running bear and little white dove,

god gave rock to everyone,

it was an itsy-bitsy teeny-weeny yellow polka dot bikini

and lot's more live!!!!!!! I can't wait. We get sausage sizzle on that day

and before they start the recorder ensemble will perform some christmas songs

and Mamma Mia and the end. How do I know that? because I'm in the ensemble!!!

I'm currently learning Mamma Mia, it's quite hard and very fast. Everyone thinks recorders

are simple instruments but they are actually quite complicated! After us the rock band's going to get the party on the road

Oh yeh :)

bye

PS: sunnie if you are reading this do you know a boy named Jack P?

he goes to my school I was asking him where does he get his budgies from

and he said a friend named sunnie. I'm just wondering cause it's such a small world.
