Posted November 3, 200816 yr Ever since we bought our house I have wanted to paint our balcony as it has only ever had pink primer on it. The bricks are a blondy colour and we have black trimming around our windows and black fencing around the balcony. I cant for the life of me pick a nice colour to paint the timber on the balcony, any ideas anyone? I was thinking maybe a terracotta colour as our roof tiles are that colour as well as the edging on our driveway, what do you think??
November 3, 200816 yr Heritage red looks nice with most decor We have it on our patio out the back, our place is also pale brick with black metal window frames and terracotta coloured concrete(painted paving) Edited November 3, 200816 yr by melbournebudgies

I'm trying to picture it from when I was there... mmm, I think terricotta would be nice... I hate introducing too many colors as it looks messy, but with the roof and driveway edge that colour, I think it would look nice and be a good contrast with the cream/blonde of the bricks and black of the trimming.
November 3, 200816 yr Author Thanks guys, as I dont have any pics of the house in any of my files, I will take some tomorrow along with pics of the chicks!! (hey, that rhymes!)
November 3, 200816 yr I reckon Charcoal .... It won't clash with the Black trimming .... It will set off the Blonde brick work and well blend in with the terracotta colours ( it's a dark grey colour) So yeah I agree with Kaz
November 4, 200816 yr I defidently recommend the cream colour thats on the hand rail and the pillars. It will certainly make the space look bigger and it wont get to hot over summer! Edited November 4, 200816 yr by KAZ
November 4, 200816 yr I would go with a dark colour if you get alot of dust from the mines at your place. Edited November 4, 200816 yr by deb
November 4, 200816 yr I'm in two minds... I agree the cream would make it look much bigger, but a darker colour wouldn't show up as much dirt and dust.
November 4, 200816 yr depends what colour dust. Black cars and counter tops show up dirt two i guess. Maybe you should go for a dust colour. heheheh
November 4, 200816 yr Don't forget also that a dark colour will get hot in the summer sun. You could go with a very pale grey or green it won't show up the dirt as much but will still be cool under foot and make it look larger We had dark grey on the balcony at our old house and it was very hot in summer Edited November 4, 200816 yr by melbournebudgies
