November 1, 200816 yr You need to do cere pictures without flash or it stops the colour being seen as it truly is. When sexing a budgie the true cere colour is needed. For right now both Jock and Leroy look like hens and so do all the others. Try again tomorrow with NO FLASH
November 1, 200816 yr They all look like girls to me, but it's hard to know from pics... and my philosophy always tends to be "when in doubt it's a hen" lol
November 1, 200816 yr if it cant take no flash pics then put a couple of pices of tape on the flash  good luck
November 1, 200816 yr When you are using a macro setting and need to use flash take the babies next to the sunlight if possible, put the tape on the camera and then close the button down 1/2 way that will then give the camera time to auto focus all digital cameras have this feature pretty much. As Kaz says they all look like hens because of the flash.
November 1, 200816 yr Author okay Thanks everyone I will try again tomorow without the flash. When I try use the flash everything comes out extremley blurry. Should I be using the macro setting? All I want to do is take photos of birds, that is all the camera is used for. My camera is an olympus mju 410, does anyone have one of these? Any tips would be great. Elly - So once I cover the flash with black duck tape do I push the trigger button down half way? Then it auto focuses and I push it down all the way? THanks very much
November 1, 200816 yr Yes if you have your camera set where you can see it on the view finder then you should see it blurry and then focus in do some practice round first all camera do this on close up even far away shots.
November 1, 200816 yr well if you press the button with the arrow pointing right with the squiggly arrow next to it, it will give you setting for the flash go down to the one which has the squiggly arrow and a line through it meaning no flash, then you wont have any flash, then to use macro press the left button with the flower on it, on the screen it will comee up with some options, press down once, then okay and it should be on macro, now your ready to take the photo, secure the baby in position (lol), then press the shutter button half way down, wait for it to beep or make a green square on the screen, check the screen to see if the photo is going to be clear, then push it fully down, now you should get a nice clear photo. also if the shots you take are blurry, i would suggest checking if the lens is dity, if it is just clean it with a lint free cloth and vwola! hope this helps, good luck
November 1, 200816 yr Here are the flash instructions - go to page 72 --- > HERE Hope that hepls. the Macro settings are given a few pages before too
November 2, 200816 yr Author Thank you very much everyone.
