This is a bit disgusting but anyway, bear with me....

Cosmo was sitting on the window sill today and then he sneezed. Now, he sneezes from time to time like any budgie, but he's not sneezing all that often or anything.

But it REALLY shocked me to see how much his sneeze sprayed out onto the window! It formed a splotch maybe the size of a 5c piece or a little smaller.

Is this normal? I guess i've never had a budgie sneeze onto a surface before so that I could see how big the sneeze was.

Haha sorry guys for the horrible topic, but I just thought I'd better be safe than sorry and just make sure that occasional wet sneezes are not a sign of something bad.

:hap: ........ :) It is the funniest thing to hear let a lone see :hap:

I have not had the pleasure LOL to see it on a surface But I am "guessing" as long as it is clearish that there wold be nothing to worry about .. However I am sure some of our Members who are vets will confirm or deny it ......

Provided the feathers above the cere are not damp or stained, there is nothing wrong with budgies sneezing :)

Yeah absolutely it was clear.... haha I know, I'm slightly reluctant to post about it in case it disgusts anyone too much, but we all put up with the yucky side of budgies as well as the cute and fluffy, so I figured it should be okay :)

No... his cere itself looked a little wet immediately after, but the feathers above his cere look soft and clean all the time.

haha - you will have to do better than that to grose us out :)

Yeah that's happened to me I had Bailey on my hand and he sneezed in my eye and water went into my eye and mouth.

Gross right?

Gross but cute at the same time :), I agree with everyone else on if it is normal and okay.

:D

That is nothing I agree with Liv need more to gross us out .. LOL ... There has been autopsy photo's and well Hey we talk about poo on here  ... so a sneeze is nothing ... just a walk on the park .. :hap:

Yep, I was gonna post about how Smiggle always seems to turn his head towards my cheek when he sneezes and I cop it on the cheek nearly every time, but yeah Jodie you definately win with coping it in the eye and mouth, and to think I thought the cheek was bad enough.

Happens to me too, no need to worry. It is sooo cute when they do it though. Even if it does get everywhere

My other male budgie George (who Bailey's brother) drinks water and then shakes his head and the water comes out his mouth and hits me in the eye.

I swear there ganging up on me..... Or trying to make me blind
