Posted October 30, 200816 yr I've been feeding my birds sprouted seeds occasionally, and they love it..I'm wondering if it would be fine to feed them this more often? (perhaps even every day) Would that maybe be harmful at all? Thanks.
November 1, 200816 yr Author Okay I have another question. Would too much of it (every day) perhaps make them overweight? They do live in a pretty big avairy, but I'm just wondering if sprouted seeds could be fattening for them? Edited November 1, 200816 yr by Jen144
November 1, 200816 yr Sprouted seeds are so much better for them nutritionally than bagged dry seed...if you are able to feed every day then do, and cut down on their dry seed. Just be careful as they can go rancid much faster than dry seed. If they smell or get slimey toss the batch and grow more. They are only good for a few days in the fridge. Sprouted seeds are live food, and contain many more amino acids than dry seed, they are a better quality food in my opinion. Your bird will only become overweight on them if they consume more calories than they expend, same as with any other food you offer.
