Hi all do both parent need to be split for Recessive Pied to produce a recessive pied chick? As both parents are normal green I know for defanate that George is split because he has a tiny spot on the back of his head, but Lumina isn't showing anything.

The baby I'm talking about

Yes to get a recessive pied from 2 normals they would both have to be split. Only some birds that are split for recessive pied have a head spot

agree with Neville ... didn't know that only some show the little spot...... i learnt something yay

Jodie did you get these two from the same place? Makes me wonder if they are related

No I got George from my best friend who bred them and hasn't been able to breed her birds since(so theve only produce one clutch of all boys) and they bought there birds down from Kent. I got Lumina from a pet store that my friend doesn't even know about and all her brothers and sisters were at the store with her.

Kent is a wonderful place!!!
