The dad of the babies SMOKEY gets in now and feeds the babies himself...the nest of five. He has forgotten that the hen with two belong to him as well so we look after that hen and her babies. Everytime I look in the nest with the two chicks one is poking its head out from under Mums wing. So cute :bliss: I tried to get a picture of that but it came out a bit fuzzy.

I am assuming that this is all colony breeding. Do the other birds not attack each others nest's like budgie's do?

Kens aviary is colony breeding. He has chosen the right species of birds ( peaceful quiet types ) for cohabitation and peaceful harmony. The aviary is also big enough ( 10 metres by 3 by 3 ) for them all to have a good place to be.

He's very handsome!

I finally got a female Princess on Saturday. Unfortunately the meeting with Monty has to wait as she is undernourished and had an eye infection. I am treating both so maybe I'll be able to breed them this season yet!

Ours usually do two clutches each season so you may be okay once she is well.
