Introducing Ben!

Featured Replies

GOOD NEWS! Benny boy's feathers are growing back! 2 tailfeathers have come back and possibly two flight feathers on each side!

That can be a good sign :) If they keep growing and dont break off and bleed than he has had a stress moult which caused the feather loss and not french moult. If they break off and bleed then he has french moult. Just in case look up in our FAQ section on how to deal with a broken blood feather.

Just thought I'd add some updated pictures of Ben as his feathers are growing back. If they dont break off or drop out we'll be pretty sure he had a stress molt and not french molt, time will tell! He always was a looker but now he is just gorgeous!

Well Ben's new feathers are still coming through but are looking a bit on the shaggy side so the jury is still out on wether it is F.M. or not? Just thought I'd post these most recent photo's to see what everyone else thinks? He hasn't lost any of the new ones. He is beautiful all the same and I am still in love with his aqua colourings

I've said this quite a few times in my days....

never trust a pet shop, they will do all and everything to get a sale and make money.....and they no jack **** about birds, i remember i went to buy my crimson wing olive and lutino yellow split yesterday and the petshop said "the lutino is a male" ...it had a brown cere....i told him it is a in-season female, and that he should have known this being a petshop owner...

so theirs a good example of pet shop owners....in it for the money and not the experience and joy of birds...
