5 Months Old And Wanting To Mate

okay Now i am on a roll with issues with the birds this week ......

I was out having a cuppa and noticed my 5 month old Hen head down BUM UP ... . Trying to get Mac to get on top of her :D

Mac is 9 - 10 months old ... They are in a Portable aviary with other birds - No empty seed dishes or anywhere else for them to mate ....

Now this could be just a Puberty thing - FUN thing - or a mating thing - I am going to go and change the cage around and use Occy straps as perches for a little while ( so that there isn't anything stable for them to mate)

I can't remove her or him at the moment as all the cages are being used ......

Crazy times now with the birds ...

I have a Feather plucker -

I have a New quarantined birds showing signs of health issues ( lucky they are in quarantine)

Now young birds getting jiggy with it ...

OH I HATE OCTOBER :(

November is just around the corner - hang in there!!! (I have no idea if that makes a difference but I thought it sounded possamistic) :D

They can be covered right Neat? Less daylight hours if possible and get them covered for 14-16 hours for about 1 week if possible.

sorry to hear about all the issues you are having with your budgies, i hope things improve for you. I think the mating is normal, in July i had brothers and sisters who were only 5 months old mating with each other.

Neat, some budgie sex is okay... its only when the male gets over excited and really harrassing the hen that is becomes an issue. If its just here and there than there is nothing to worry about.

Neat you need to tell your hens to "Just say NO"!

They're just being teenagers and it's that time of year, I wouldn't worry about it unless any of them are actually trying to nest somewhere innapropriate

:( :( Oh JB .......

Yeah See what I mean when it comes to my birds I don't know a single thing ... But someone else tells me this I could bounce a few ideas of them ... :crazy stuff

Missylu YOU BLO ODY GENIUS ...

That is right the Sale is on ... and what makes it better is the 1st of November Snakes Houses what who LOL for sure and we will meet Dave :D

Yep, I have a 4 month albino cock who is chatting up his kindie playmates and trying to jump 'em ... :D

Just like his Dad who is a super breeder, it does run in the family! :(

It's probably just recreational sex, it happens a lot with teenagers. Most likely they won't lay any eggs

 Don't worry my young are doing the same. They are just practicing for the future, well that's what I tell myself :(
