October 20, 200816 yr Welcome to the world of toilet training JB, no matter what you do there will be poo and it will probably end up on the floor at some stage Edited October 21, 200816 yr by Neat
October 20, 200816 yr My son trained in a week (including though the night) so i had no issues with him. (I bribed him with an old laptop computer :hi: ) My daughter (2) is nowhere near ready so i think she will be a struggle this summer. My friends daughter is 4 and was still doing poos in her pants. she would do wee's on the toilet with no issues at all, but poo's she would hold and hold until she could do it in a pullup or undies. Se had tried everything and as a last resort she took her daughter shopping and said. "pick what you want". Her little girl chose her favorite barbie and her mum put it on top of the fridge in full display and said to her daughter "Do poo's on the toilet, and you get the barbie" It took about 3 days, but it worked a treat, and she (i believe) hasn't had an accident since. I like bribery too, but sometimes a lolly isn't enough to get them to take that first step over something they are scared of. Edited October 20, 200816 yr by **Liv**
October 20, 200816 yr Be aware of situational problems too. My oldest was completely trained at home but would go in his undies at childcare. After many frustrating months of this I finally asked him why he wouldn't used the toilet at 'kids'. His response in a aw der mum voice was "We wear nappies as kids, we don't use the toilet..." I turned around directly to the new carer and said, this is the end of it, we need to just make him understand that there isn't an option any more. Within two days he had stopped going in his pants at childcare Edited October 21, 200816 yr by Neat spelling
October 20, 200816 yr How long will he hold out if you leave him with no pants on? We had the same problem with Alex so I made him a kilt And what does a good scotsman wear under his kilt? NOTHING OF COURSE He worked out pretty quick that it wasn't so nice doing no.2's with no pants on so he very quickly started using the toilet then Here's his kilt, I can't believe I still have aphoto of it :hi: LMAO!!! That is great! Seriously, Neat, I work with kids, and as long as they learn before they leave home or get married, all is well. Not to upset you, but some kids are harder to train than others. The bottomless idea has worked for many, however it's best done when kids can spend the majority of their days outside and just run around in the buff with rubber boots on or something. Kids who tend to go hide in the corner and poop are statistically the toughest kids to train. It took my nephew until he was four, and he was one of those run and hide kids. Your son is quite young and has lots of time to learn (while you rack up the expenses in diapers). But if you persist, with lots of tangible rewards, he will learn eventually!

October 21, 200816 yr Author ... That was it ..... Nothing ... He was to scared after that to sit or use the potty again .... He held in until bath time ... and kept wanting a nappy .... Dam .. Thought I had this one covered ....
October 21, 200816 yr You just have to persevere Neat, I know it sounds tough but we had to do it with Alex too. I used to make a fool of myself whenever he did and just jump up and start singing "Celebrate good times come on, doo doo dooo dooodoooo doodoodoooo, whoo hooo..." Also I took the nappies and got a different looking nappy (with a different picture on it). Then I explained that these nappies were only night time nappies and you couldn't wear them during the day
