Posted October 19, 200816 yr Hi I have got two healthy Babies! This is the third batch! How much do you recommend to sell them for (When they are old enough!)?? Should I give the mum and dad greens while they have babies?? Is the Egg and Biscuit Mix from the Grocery Store good enough for hand raising babies?? Thanks. October 19, 200816 yr Congrats on your healthy babies The parents need lots of good food throughout the entire breeding process, so yes, give lots of greens (being peas, silver beet, broccoli etc) , yellows (being corn) and oranges (being carrots ) I don't think the egg and biscuit mix is adequate for hand rearing as it doesn't have all the essential goodness in it. hand rearing food is required. Egg and biscuit can be used as a soft food to feed the parents along with their fresh food
October 19, 200816 yr Congrats on the the Eggs and Babies ... If this is their 3rd IN A ROW ???? I wouldn't be watching them very carefully They need alot of greens and etc like Liv has said ...... Budgie really shouldn't lay and raise 3 clutches in a row .... They can lay and raise 2 But you need to remember that Laying eggs takes alot out of a hen - Then the feeding of chicks takes even more out of them - Especially the Dad ... Now times that by 3 ... I don't mean to come across like a Nazi ... But you need to think about the Health of the parents first. If they aren't in TOP breeding Condition and HEALTH ...
