I have a picture of my poor little budgies enlarged crop area here it is can anyone tell me why it is like this thank you none of teh other babiies are like this !!!!!babybudgieenlargedcrop.jpg

He has air in his crop and if you search the forum there should be info somewhere i how to remove it. i am not sure of the exact method but you have to gently push the air out. If you do a search for air in crop you should find some help.

Oh my golly :what: , you weren't exaggerating were you! I'm sure other members will be able to give you the advice you need, I just wanted to let you know that we all hope this little fellow is O.K :o . Good Luck with him and I will watch this post for the outcome.

I hate to inform you that's gone beyond air in his crop :what:

He's now inflating his air sacs... You'll find there's nothing you can do aside wait and hope the problem fixes itself (although their is a vet option which can be quite costly and not a definate fix)

Whatever you do DO NOT try to forcefully remove this air or pop it, you'll only do damage as it's not actually in his crop!

okay thank you all for your concerns i will let you know how things go i will just hope and pray that it rights itself.

I have heard that they can get air in the crop from a bacterial infection too? I can't remember the name of it. something like sourcrop is ringing a bell? I just remember it from a baby budgie we had once that my mum had to syringe feed, and she thought that the baby's crop was full of air because she was syringe feeding it wrongly, but then an avian vet told her it was actually an infection.. and then the baby died :what:

Sorry to give you a fright. I've never seen air in the crop like that apart from that time though, and I was quite young when it happened so I don't remember the details of what was wrong with the bird. Hopefully someone else can clarify?

Oh Dear, I am glad that you posted a picture I was about to say the same as Deb ...

I am Glad that Libb knew what it was - Fingers crossed mate .. Please up dates as ...

Oh... the poor little guy. I hope he rights himself. Hugs mate xo
