October 19, 200816 yr I'm so glad you had a positive experience! Budgie Shows are great fun and a wonderful way to appraise your birds and learn how to improve. If you can, try Stewarding. You get to accompany the Judge and many times the Judge on the day will "think aloud" and through their comments you get a 'fast-tracked' course in what makes a winning bird, ie. desirable qualities. Good Luck!
October 19, 200816 yr Author Hi, As promised here are some photo's not as many as I hoped as my batteries died  , just as I started to get some photo's of 1st prize winners :anim_19: . Firstly is a photo of a few show cages including both of my birds. Then here are a close-ups of my 2 place winners She wouldn't perch it was late in the afternoon and I think she had had enough. He was just buggered not wanting to move off the bottom of the cage But here is a photo of one of the member's of my club's bird and as you can see this is what I hopefully one day, after lots of time and effort may breed. Sorry the second shot has come up a bit blury  , but even I am impressed with the shot I've posted first  . This bird has an amazing blow and those spots are to die for. May I add this member is NOT in the beginners classifacation. Anyway hope you enjoy the few photos I manage to get before my camera decided to die. Thanks Carolyn

October 19, 200816 yr Well done Carolyn!! I am so pleased for you. It gives me heart that I wont die from stress before my competition next weekend. Mind you, with the way the weather is looking so far, it may just be cancelled and those sleepless nights and planning etc will just be a waste of time. But you never know, it might still be cool enough yet Once again, congratulations and I am happy for you that the experience was an exciting and pleasant one
