What types of safe foods would you feed underweight budgies?

 

Also what types of safe foods would you feed overweight budgies?

Sometimes it isnt just about food. Like with people its food types and exercise combined. Budgies get fat if there are too many perches and places to sit with less space to fly.

I find hulled oats is good to help put weight on. No hulled oats if they are fat.

But definitely need to rethink cage perch placement and exercise as well in these cases.

I agree with Kaz, if you find your budgie is not flying around very much and you have a lot of seed and millet in the cage and not a lot of fresh veggies, fruits etc...then you will probably have a fat budgie but like human's each budgie's metabolism is better.

 

Single budgies tend to fly less so you have to prompt them to fly and play with them to have them exercise :bump:.
