My four year old is a classic and definately good for a laugh if you listen closely to what he says...

In a discussion of who was the biggest and smallest in our family:

Alex: Maxie is the smallest and mummy is the biggest

Me: What about daddy?

Alex: No, he's not the biggest, he's the giantist!!!

Today at the doctors when the doctor checked his ears:

Alex: Mum, can you see the light coming out my other ear?

Me: No darling, your brain is in the way

Alex: You can see my brain?!!!

Anyone else have a kid classic to share?

I like giving you hugs more then mummy cause you're all soft like a giant pillow only in the shape of a person.

Hmmmm i think he was saying I was fat! :P

:P I know my kids have said the darnest things too I just can't remember right now LOL

Jadon my 4year old takes the meaning of everything i say literally which can be funny sometimes. The other day i was having coffee and he wanted me to eat grapes with my coffee, i told him i could not because they would not mix. His answer was to have some coffee and then a grape and sit still and don't shake.

Very cute.

My nephew Alistair was over one day (he was 3 at the time) and I asked him if he could say the word "gorilla"

He said: "Nawwww, my mouth's too short"

I was babysitting a friends five year old and we were driving somewhere....

We stopped at the orange light at an intersection.

He asked why I stopped.

I explained that you are meant to slow down and stop at an orange traffic light.

He said....

"Mummy just yells out DARK GREEN and drives faster !! "

That is a crack up Deb  ...

okay you'd think that my kids would be funny .. Yep well they are sooo serious it's not funny ...

They come out with the occasional funny thing but Nope they are funny!

When Talia was 4 I took her for a drive I pointed out to her "Look Tj Purple Horses" Having a little chuckle to my self ..

She turns around and say " Mum that's the color of their rugs, you sure don't know much do you " :bliss:

And it will only get worse Neat, it won't be until her early 20s that she actually realises that she doesn't know more than you

My mum and dad used to have a sign on their wall at home that read:

Teenagers

Move out, get a job and pay your own bills..

while you still know everything

:bliss:

But I will "work" on Dylan to have a sense of humor

We were having a discussion with my 3ish year old nephew. Our AFL footy team had just lost the Grand final ( ), we explained we were sad but it's not important in life. He then said... "what's important in your life"... most of us replied family and friends etc... when we asked him, he said "It's important, that when you are near a volcano, you must run very fast so the lava doesn't get you... that's important" :laughter:

:laughter:  :laughter:  :laughter:

That is funny as - Can i swap kids !!!!

I remember when my eldest son was about 3 i caught him picking his nose so i asked him if he wanted a tissue and he replied" No Its okay I got my finger"

You may know the song "We're not gonna take it" (Twisted Sister).. my 4 year old grand daughter quite seriously sings "We're not going to daycare, no, we're not going to daycare... we're not going to daycare...any more!!" :D:D

and like Deb's... when my first son was 2 or 3 he took everything we said seriously. I remember clearly when he was playing on the floor in a doorway with his little cars and we told him "get out of the road with those cars please".. you guessed it.. he picked up his little cars and headed outside to go and play on the road! :D

  • 3 weeks later...

I know this is a old topic but Jadon my 5 year old came out with a funny one this morning that i had to share. He was getting very emotional so i was trying to calm him down and talk to him and he told me" stop saying so many words at me Mum or i am going to get a word headache" :D

:laughter: Deb

Mine is 4 going on 14, he puts his hand up in front (talk to the hand style) and says, I don't want to hear your voice right now mum, I'm feeling grumpy :D To which I normally reply 'you will hear my voice whether you like it or not now sit down and listen'. He then rolls his eyes at me and plonks on the bed with his arms crossed

Your 4 year old sounds so much like my 5 year old, last week when i was trying to talk to him he walked away and pointed his backside at me and told me to talk to the butt, i told him i was going to smack the butt not talk to it. My 13 year old son taught that one to him.
