September 28, 200816 yr Not only was this post great for the great pics, but it was really good to actually see the wild grasses you feed your budgies. I dont know much about them and often see those grasses along the side of the road and think of picking them for the budgies. In future, I think I will stop and do just that
September 28, 200816 yr Author I go off road to get my grasses ( I wont pick roadside grass ) and make good observations for indications of spraying in the area. There are some little farmlets not far down the road and they will let you pick grass off their land.

September 28, 200816 yr great pics Kaz. Interesting to see all those green and grey green birds and then that little shot of white. Another foster baby? If so, why did you foster him? Seems like a lot in that nestbox
September 29, 200816 yr Author great pics Kaz. Interesting to see all those green and grey green birds and then that little shot of white. Another foster baby? If so, why did you foster him? Seems like a lot in that nestbox Yes...foster baby.....this and another. The mother wasnt feeding them properly and they werent thriving. Removed to this nest for assistance. These parents were very good feeders so they can cope with these chicks with no struggle. I thought the two fosters woul die they were so bad. Even crop feeding a top up was not helping. I put some whole egg powder in the hand rearing formula they were being crop fed and it helped them turn the corner. The added protein helped
