Posted September 25, 200816 yr Crystal was happy sitting on her first clutch of three eggs for about 2 weeks. i discovered today the three eggs on the cage floor. they seemed empty. did she kick them out and why? or did another bird? we have 3 pairs in the cage plus 4 quails. so disappointing. another female laid one egg today in the adjoining box. please help with any suggetsions
September 25, 200816 yr Try and remove a single pair of budgies to a seperate cage for breeding, and then you wont have others interfering with nestboxes. ANYTHING can have happened here...the hen could have thrown them out or another hen most likely did go in the nestbox to claim it as her own...it happens a lot, What size space are your birds in with the nestboxes and quails ?
