Below is my understanding on moving fledgling from breeding cage to an aviary, please feel free to correct me if I am wrong or add additional info if any to this:

 

* Chicks are fledged at around 4 weeks from nestboxes.

 

* At the age of 6 weeks, this fledglings are separated from parents and moved to nursery cage from breeding cage.

 

* After first moult at age of 12 weeks, we move fledgling to an aviary and at this stage fledgling is called as juvenile.

 

I have done some research regarding type of aviary to which this juvenile birds are moved, but I got mixed answers that each sex is moved into their own flight/aviary and another one is moved into the common flight/aviary. But personally I am not sure.

Everything you have said is correct. With regard to seperate sexes in aviaries thats down to personal opinion but most people seem to keep mixed flights/aviaries. Assuming there are no nest boxes in the aviary to tempt any youngsters into breeding too early they will be fine

As Kaz says it's down to personal choice and also available space.

 

I have a nappy cage and keep my birds in there until they start to moult then move them to the main avairy as I dont have the space for a juvenile one and I dont separate the sexes.

 

The most important thing is it works for me.

Yes Kaz aviary without nest boxes.......just preparing few personal notes and thought to confirm with you people, so that I have all correct info.
