September 24, 200816 yr Do you know what the parents are? or a picture of the front of the bird too. This will help. I see either a Sky Blue Recessive Pied OR a Double Factor Pied (I think Spangle too)...if you know that parents please tell us or post a picture. Thank you.
September 24, 200816 yr I'm going to go with SPangle recessive pied for now, but could possibly a Dominant DF as Elly stated, but by wing markings and marking structure I'd imagine not.
September 24, 200816 yr Author I dont have pics of the parents, and I will try and get a better photo. But what do all these color names mean? I havent really bred for colors before, I've just hoped they would lay eggs...
September 24, 200816 yr Skyblue - means that the bird is the lighest blue you can have (no dark factors) there is also Cobalt and Mauve (there is info in the FAQ about Dark Factor to read more about. Spangle - is the type of wing marking your bird has instead of the normal scallop black on the wing it is traced at the end of the wings like someone traced the edge of the wings. Recessive Pied - is the mutation the bird, like you have normal birds (which look like a regular budgie) you can learn more about the mutations in our FAQ section and read up. So putting it together your bird is a Skyblue Recessive Pied Spangle.
September 25, 200816 yr Right, so its a Skyblue Recessive Pied Spangle?? Not quite...Its a skyblue spangle recessive pied
September 25, 200816 yr :D I still have issues with putting them in the Correct order lol Me too Neat, Kaz needs to gives us some pointers lol and I can add to the FAQ, I remember Daz telling us once way back but I forgot.
September 25, 200816 yr The reason it is a skyblue spangle recessive pied is..........its a recessive pied. So the colour comes first, recessive pied last as thats what is actually is...the spangle bit in the middle because thats whats describing what type of recessive pied it is. If it was said as a skyblue recessive pied spangle you would be saying it was a spangle which it isnt. Hope that helps
September 25, 200816 yr You will have to give us a lesson Kaz , when you have time start a post and quiz us.
September 25, 200816 yr I still have issues with putting them in the Correct order lol I didn't know there was a "correct order".... ?? What is that correct order? Like color first, then sex linked, etc... ??
October 2, 200816 yr :laughter: I still have issues with putting them in the Correct order lol :laughter: I didn't know there was a "correct order".... ?? What is that correct order? Like color first, then sex linked, etc... ?? Did anyone ask if this bub has an iris ring? The guess seems to be recessive pied, but if there is an iris, I'm gonna guess DF dominant pied sky blue... Looks alot like this one from the Mutations on the Gypsy Willow page??? And this is a DFDP.
October 2, 200816 yr The patch of colour on the rump would be a lot stronger and brighter if it was and it isnt.

I don't know my elbow from my ear so, I was just making a comparison as to why I thought DF...
