I have a hen who I got last year at the age of about 4 months. She was bullied in the aviary and lost a lot of weight and so I brought her inside and have been getting her back to health. She is old enough to breed this season and now seems healthy and I am keen to put her in a box but just wanted to check how long others think it is best to wait? She has been well now since early Autumn.

 

Also she is a dom pied and I want to put her with a normal, would I get pied babies from that or normals?

If she is in great condition and weight, then she is probably fine for breeding.

okay, well I might set her up then. I would like to put her with my tame inside cock who has taken a rather large liking to her Since they are both used to the sights and sounds of the household I will probably keep them in the house to breed so I will be able to keep a good eye on her

I have no idea whether he is split Neat, but they just love each other so much.

okay, so as you know, you have the chance of dom pied and normals.

 

If the cock is split blue, you should get soem cobalts, as she looks like a mauve bird to me.

 

If the cock is not split blue, then you will not get any blues.

 

The cock is a grey/green, so you should get some greens and greys.

 

Any other surpises that Dad carries may appear - such as cinnamon.
