Pressing/ironing Chifon

Does anyone know if it is okay to iron chifon with a cool iron? I have a nice black cocktail dress that badly needs a press after being in storage but it doesn't seem to have any care instructions on it. Should I put a cloth over it if I iron it?

Yes...you will need a cool iron AND a pressing cloth. Start in a hidden area first in case it turns pear shaped :)

There aren't really any 'hidden' areas which is why I thought I'd ask before I tried, I'll start at the back on the bottom edge where it won't be noticable if something does go wron.

Thanks

I'd use a few tea towels on top and try more to steam it than iron it :)

Hang in the bathroom while you have a hot shower that is what I do with mine and it hangs out the issues and I don't have to attempt to find my Iron :budgiedance:

I actually gave it a wash in quite warm water and left it to hang over night but the creases still haven't come out. I spoke to the people I bought it from and they recommended getting a dry cleaner to press it if it has been folded for a long time and then after that any new little creases should be easy to get out :budgiedance:
