September 14, 200816 yr Hmm well she's either a clearflight or a pied, she's grey wing I think she's a clearflight greywing TCB....actually I'm pretty stumped but that's my guess, can you tell us whether she has any pied markings on her as that would change everything That's assuming her wing markings are actuelly grey and not cinnamon. If they are cinnamon she's a greygreen Edited September 14, 200816 yr by melbournebudgies
September 14, 200816 yr She is a dominant pied thats for certain Ummmmm..... How come? Please elaborate.
September 14, 200816 yr Are her eyes back or plum? Renee you can see the pied spot on the back of her head if you look carefully Edited September 14, 200816 yr by melbournebudgies
September 14, 200816 yr Author Its by her wing markings that you know she is dominant pied regardless of colour. Also plum eyes means nothing here as she has iris rings which further indicates she is dominant pied.
September 14, 200816 yr Are her eyes back or plum? Renee you can see the pied spot on the back of her head if you look carefully But with the absence of body markings, doesn't the spot on the back of the head indicate that it's SPLIT?

At first glance I thought they looked like lacewing markings or maybe greywing? September 14, 200816 yr I was only asking about the eyes as I have a pied fallow which is very similiar(and has iris rings)Renee by wing markings I think Kaz means the clearflights

September 14, 200816 yr What about the spot on the back of the head? Would anyone like to tackle that one? Now I am sure that on the MBC forum something was said about this and from what I remember the splits of both Rec & Domi Pieds can have head spots but the Rec Pieds were much smaller. For ex., I have a normal green with a 5c spot on the back of its head and I was under the impression that it was split for Domi Pied. Mind you at that time I did ask the MBC membership to explain this to me and nobody did .....
September 14, 200816 yr Author Some not all split recessive have a tiny spot on the back of their head. Most dom pieds have a large patch. There is no such thing as a split for dom pied.

Of course, they can't be split because they're DOMINANT!!!! I told you I was **** at genetics, LOL So this bird I was talking about, Looks like a Normal Green but the dot at the back of it's head indicates that it's split for RECESSIVE! I am I right?

September 14, 200816 yr You said she does have plum eyes Kaz? I can't tell on my screen. In doing some research before I posted I believe she is a Dominat Pied Lacewing. Features: Dominant Pied becaues of the wing pattern. Lacewing traits because the budgie is yellow with the suffision under the tail, marking on the head and wings show up a light cinnamon, body color is slightly visible in the wing pattern, plum eyes, cheeks patches are a pale violet.

September 14, 200816 yr Author This bird IS a dom pied with black eyes and iris rings. No lacewing involved.
