Hi everyone

I have just joined up as we are soon to be parents? grandparents!

We have 6 budgies. We started off with four button quails in the outdoor aviary, 1 male and three females, one of which is sitting on all the females eggs. She got off the last clutch days before they were due to hatch as we were flooding, but has started again. Then I decided the top half of the aviary was wasted so we bought two budgies, Crystal and Ollie, who were very happy together and are now breeding, two eggs so far! Then we walked past the Saddlery again and bought Blue Boy and Pretty Boy (who is a girl) and they are very happy together. Then a few weeks later saw a gorgeous white couple, so bought them as well. Now we avoid pet shops!!

We also have a cat, dog, tropical and gold fish, plus a green tree snake in the mulberry tree. Add this to 6 kids and we have a very happy and busy life.

Hello and welcome :D

Your growing flock sounds lovely - becoming addicted to budgies is very easy. every pet store needs a warning sign "Beware of budgie addiction" :hap:

I know its a little late now, but any new birds you get should be quarantined from other birds for 30 days minimum.

We LOVE photos too :D

Welcome :hap:, budgies are addicting for sure that is why I stay out of the pet shops too :D. Though I do advise before adding more ensure you do have a place to quaretine, not doing so is taking a great risk on introducing illness to your existing flock.

Howdy and welcome :D

What a VERY busy life you must have with so many kids and wonderful pets around :hap:

Be careful the snake does not get into your aviary and eat the quails or budgies. Snakes quite often do...

Hi and welcome... what a busy life you have! I'd love to see some photos of your animals. You can post budgie photos in the 'budgie photo' section, and all the other ones in Off the Topic. Check out the link in my signature on how to do it. I hope you are made to feel welcome here, and remember to ask anything you like. I'd also recommend checking out our FAQ's too, they have a wealth of information. Welcome again... :D maesie xo
