Posted September 14, 200816 yr Hi everyone I have just joined up as we are soon to be parents? grandparents! We have 6 budgies. We started off with four button quails in the outdoor aviary, 1 male and three females, one of which is sitting on all the females eggs. She got off the last clutch days before they were due to hatch as we were flooding, but has started again. Then I decided the top half of the aviary was wasted so we bought two budgies, Crystal and Ollie, who were very happy together and are now breeding, two eggs so far! Then we walked past the Saddlery again and bought Blue Boy and Pretty Boy (who is a girl) and they are very happy together. Then a few weeks later saw a gorgeous white couple, so bought them as well. Now we avoid pet shops!! We also have a cat, dog, tropical and gold fish, plus a green tree snake in the mulberry tree. Add this to 6 kids and we have a very happy and busy life. Shanghai
September 14, 200816 yr Hello and welcome Your growing flock sounds lovely - becoming addicted to budgies is very easy. every pet store needs a warning sign "Beware of budgie addiction" :hap: I know its a little late now, but any new birds you get should be quarantined from other birds for 30 days minimum. We LOVE photos too

September 14, 200816 yr Welcome :hap:, budgies are addicting for sure that is why I stay out of the pet shops too . Though I do advise before adding more ensure you do have a place to quaretine, not doing so is taking a great risk on introducing illness to your existing flock.
