My three cockatiel chicks are 3 weeks old and all seem to have very dark feathers. I thought I would get lutinos like their dad or silvery colour like their mother? Just wondering if all chicks are dark when they are young and it will moult out ??

no clue sorry jenene, but there is a good cockatiel forum you might want to ask, it's called www.talkcockatiels.com and has some great people there an members from this forum, i know Bea is one of the admins there, speaking of which, what has happened to her?

I agree on finding a good tiel forum, in the statement on this forum page it says we are really not to support other species of birds.

 

Cockatial.org is excellent on genetics. I can tell you that Lutino is sex-lined trait though and so the father would get it to his daughters and he has 2 ino genes so that must mean the babies you have are all girls because like budgies I believe they can't have hidden sex-linked genes.
