okay, here's a question for those of you who know their genetics (unlike me :) )I paired a violet dilute hen to a normal cobalt. What do I get?No, this isn't a trick question lol, I'll be more specific:4 chicks already, normal violets and cobalts .... Are any split for dilute?

Dilute is a recessive gene, so all offspring are split for it :)

Thank you Libby. :D

So do I breed splits to splits ... what would that outcome be?

Or if I paired a split to a visual ... what then?

My table says you should get 50% normals and 50% normal split for dilutes

No i take that back.... Looked at the wrong paring.

100% split :)

From both possible pairings? ;)

split to split

split to dilute?

Split to split will give 25% dilute, 50% splits and 25% normals

dilute to split will give 50% dilute 50% splits ;)

AND YOU ARE CHEATING :) ...

Okay, well I'm with Neat here lol. You are all quick and I thought I didn't know this one, but I suppose I don't breed recessive. Well I breed clearbodys, but i know the pairings to get them.

lol

anyway

Spelling and punctuation again. JoEl please take more care when posting!

Haha not cheating! it's just a way of storing knowledge without me having to personally write it down, it's been done for me ;) We all get info from somewhere :(

P.S. Joel, TCB's are Sexlinked not recessive, their rules also bend by the adaption of Ino in their genes.

Shhhhh I will open your stored knowledge too ;)

:) hahahah

No, Neat, don't feel stupid.... I FEEL STUPID cause I just went to both the "cheating websites" and I can't figure out how to even use the charts?????? Wow this **** is tough to follow. I think I give up... I'm just gonna pair them, mate them, and hope that something amazing happens!?!?!?! :):D :hap:
