Posted September 8, 200816 yr I have been using sprouted seed for the last few weeks and my birds, particularly those with eggs or babies go nuts for it. I have given a dish to my baby birds today (Five weeks old) and they seem to really like it too. At the moment, I am probably giving it 2 or 3 times a week. Is this okay?
September 8, 200816 yr Definitely I try to give my birds natural greens along with their vegies and soaked seed and soft food every day.
September 8, 200816 yr Author So it wouldnt hurt to give it more often? I was told that because of the high protein content, it should only be given 2 or 3 times a week?
September 8, 200816 yr Hasnt hurt my budgies and they get it every day as well as egg which also is protein.
September 8, 200816 yr Ask any show breeder...protein is good for "feather". Most successful show breeders do NOT change the routine as far as food served daily at all. Same thing every day. BUT good things every day I have just got a hold of whole egg powder to go in the birds daily soft food for PROTEIN.
